Tech Lighting Types

If you are looking for some unique lighting touches to your home, you might want to consider the advantages and aesthetics that tech lighting has to offer. Tech lighting most frequently applies to lighting systems that require low wattage and that have a sleek, contemporary design. There are several styles available, and some of the best are described below.

Monorail: Monorail designs are one of the original innovations of tech lighting, and offer form and functionality in addition to a low wattage system. Monorail lighting is suspended from a single curving structure overhead, and the lights are often affixed to tracks and wheels that allow the light fixtures to be moved about in order to best suit the user’s lighting needs. Monorails are available pre-constructed, and they are also available in units that you can put together yourself. Do it yourself assembly requires the selection of the lighting fixtures, the rail system, and the correct transformer for your needs. You can choose remote, surface, electronic, or magnetic. Monorail designs can also be purchased in a circuit model, which is set up in a circular pattern overhead to allow for maximum flow in utility as well as appearance.

Kable: Kable lighting can entail lights suspended between two cables or lights hanging by cable from a ceiling. These lights are great for atmosphere, as there are several models available in specific designs that can add a very unique touch to any room. Lighting along a cable can also include conductive and inline models that are good for a  continuous running effect.

Freejack: Freejack lights are lights attached to the jack with a specific feature fixed over top of them to shield the glare. These lights are also available in many different forms, and can be recessed into the ceiling for a non-interfering look or suspended like the cable lights to add a unique touch to the room. Most freejack lights fit closely to the ceiling, and take up very little space in the room. Freejack attachments can be purchased separately from the fixtures, so that your light system can give many different appearances depending on the mood you want to convey in the room.

Track Lights: Track lights are a last innovation in tech lighting design, independent fixtures which can be moved manually or electronically to illuminate and area or object. Flat backs and cylinders are popular models in this form of lighting.

Whether you are setting up a unique room or a hospitality oriented business, tech lighting may be the lighting idea that is right for you. Tech lighting provides a unique fell and aesthetic appeal to any room, and a combination of different models will give the room a look to remember.
